Who are we?

Recently, all too recently, I found myself questioning the fact that I have to grow up and buy some adult work clothes for my upcoming job as the Student Director of one of my law school's legal assistance clinics. I have told very many of you that "I am a T-shirt and Jeans kind of guy, what does a T-shirt and Jeans kind of guy wear on a business casual day?"
Men's fashion is so cookie-cuter-Ken that it makes me sick. After perusing far too many racks of clothes it came to my attention that my options are the following: Khaki pants or "nice" jeans as a bottom and a polo shirt (or some button up collared short sleeve variation), or a long sleeved dress shirt. Oh and, go ahead, try to find 5 people who agree on what "nice" jeans are - designer and traditional are only a few of our options. There is also the SUIT, but as many fashionable men know the amount of variation you can have with a shirt and tie is even limiting, and the rest of the suit never changes. I am left feeling like my wardrobe must now come from some department with the variety of a McDonald's billboard. No really, how many ways can you serve hamburger and grilled chicken? T-shirts were my way of speaking through my clothes because they could be imprinted with sayings that said something about the wearer.
Sorry, Ralph, but I will not live by YOUR choices of my style. I am ok with growing up, but I am not ok with losing my individualism to do it. I understand that this, go ahead read it, is not the way I should dress (nor should anyone else Ms. Spears). I am on a quest to find my own grown up style - ARE YOU WITH ME?!?!!??
